Privacy Policy

This site is a static editorial publication about Paris cafés. It runs no user accounts, no comment forms, no newsletter signup and no checkout of any kind, which keeps the privacy story mercifully short. This page describes the little data handling that does happen, in plain language, along with the rights every visitor holds under European law.

Server logs

Like almost every website on the internet, the hosting infrastructure records standard access logs whenever a page is requested: IP address, requested URL, timestamp, browser user-agent and referrer. These logs serve security monitoring and capacity planning only, are never joined with any other data source, and are rotated automatically on a fixed schedule without manual review.

Cookies and local storage

The site sets no tracking cookies of any kind. Pages are delivered as prebuilt static files and work completely without any cookie being written to your browser, which you can verify in your browser's developer tools. Should embedded functionality ever require storage in the future, this policy will be updated before that change ships.

Analytics

If traffic measurement is enabled at some point, it runs on a self-hosted, cookie-less analytics instance that stores aggregated page-view counts and nothing else: no cross-site identifiers, no advertising profiles, no fingerprinting and no data sales to anyone. Visits are counted in aggregate so the site knows which guides help; individual visitors are never tracked.

Articles throughout the site link to third-party websites, including restaurants, publications, city resources and other destinations relevant to each piece. Those sites operate under their own privacy policies and their own cookie practices, and this site has no control over the data any of them collect once you follow a link and leave these pages.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data a site holds about you. This one holds none: no accounts, no newsletter list, no analytics profile and nothing outliving the transient server logs described above. No visitor record exists here to retrieve, amend or erase, which is the point of a static site.
